Executive Directors

Dr Azman Bin Awang

Dr Azman Bin Awang was appointed to the Board on 31 March 2004.

Heholds a Master's degree in Urban Planning (MUP) from New YorkUniversity, USA and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in IndustrialEconomics from Reading University, UK.

Dr Azman has had numerous consultancy experiences at state, national and international levels. He was appointed as Advisor on the Corridor Development Program by the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) between Kunming in Southern China and Northern Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. He was also Advisor to the Johor State and City committees on work ranging from planning to urban development and housing and scenario building.Since 1991, as Professor, he has undertaken projects of national and international interests and has led inter-disciplinary teams of experts to position Malaysia on the world map. As Project Manager of an international team of consultants for the planning and urban design ofthe Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) and Cyberjaya respectively, he has successfully and innovatively completed the two plans that has become the hallmark of future planning. He was also Project Manager of an across-disciplinary team of consultants to transform Kuala Lumpur into a world-class city.

Together with other professionals, Dr Azman is responsible for generating and developing the initial concept of the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), the new dynamic regionin south Johor. He is also Executive Director of the Foundation for the Future (F3). The foundation is responsible for bringing in movers and shakers of the world to articulate their thoughts, concepts andvisions at its annual conference held in Kuala Lumpur.

Currently, he is Advisor to the Ministry of Education, Indonesia on teacher training and international schools; and to the Ministry of Education,Vietnam, on world best university practices. He is also Director of Tebrau Teguh Berhad (formerly known as Granite Industries Berhad). 


Tan Ee Ern

Mr Tan Ee Ern was appointed as an Executive Director of FSBM on 27 April 2007.

He graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a BSc (Honors) in Economics in 2002 and an MSc in Management Information System in 2003.

He worked in the Finance Department of Fujitsu Services Ltd. United Kingdom for 2 years. After returning from United Kingdom, he serves as Special Assistant to the President and is a member of the Management Committee. Mr Tan is the son of Dato' Tan Hock San.


Tan Wan Yen

Miss Tan Wan Yen was appointed as an Executive Director of FSBM on 27 November 2008.

She graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a BSc (Honors) in Accounting and Finance in 2004, during which she completed internships at PriceWaterhouse Coopers and Accenture.

After graduation, Miss Tan was attached to Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad, working in the Corporate Finance division for 2 years. Thereafter she joined BinaFikir Sdn Bhd, a boutique financial advisory firm, as an analyst. She has since been with FSBM and is a member of the Management Committee. Miss Tan is the daughter of Dato' Tan Hock San.
